The 2021-22 CDNHL Season is halfway and there is no bigger surprise then the Seattle Kraken.

The expansion team led by GM Alex Nellis ends the halfway mark of their schedule in 1st place of their division and no.6 overall in the league standings.

Nellis did choose numerous veterans this summer but the recent acquisitions of Lars Eller and Nick Foligno has seemingly worked making one of the deepest top 9’s in the league.

The offense is led by Captain Ryan O’Reilly who is fresh off TWO consecutive games with a hat trick. Also, no.1 dman Morgan Rielly is over a point per game and has put himself in line for Norris consideration.

But the Kraken is more of a team, the group is currently 9-1 in their last 10 games and on a 8 game winning roll.

The veteran goaltending tandem of James Reimer and Tomas Greiss have been excellent.

Will be interesting to see how this organization grows since their farm team led by Ivan Barbashev, Nicolas Roy, Troy Terry and Oliver Kylington is also on fire with all these names seemingly pushing for a job next season.

The Kraken is ready for the 2nd half… and more importantly… A playoff appearance in season 1!
