On monday night december 13th 2021 Patrick Kane played in his 1 000th game for the CDNHL Chicago Blackhawks when they took on the Jets on the road in Winnipeg. In the game Patrick Kane did what he seemingly always does, he produced. Kane initiated the scoring giving the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead 15:16 into the first period. Kane added an assist in the third period and the Blackhawks won the game 4-2. Kane finished the game with 1 goal and 1 assist and a +1 +/- rating and was named the second star of the game.

In what has been called a rebuild season in Chicago the Blackhawks surprisingly find themselves only 2 points out of a playoff spot through the first 28 games of the season. That is not something that was expected but it is done, like so many times before, on the back of Kane’s production. Through 28 games he has scored 10 goals and 23 assists for 33 points and has formed a nice pairing with Martin Necas who has scored 28 points in the first 28 games. This is really the first year of his 13 seasons on the Blackhawks that he has not had Jonathan Toews as a center, but the transition has gone smoothly so far with Necas filling in on the top center position.

In the 1 000 games that Patrick Kane has played for the Blackhawks he has scored 455 goals and added 739 assists for 1 194 points. That is an avarage of 97 points per 82 game season.

Since joining the Blackhawks Patrick Kane has won 2 Hart Trophys (16/17 and 17/18), 2 Art Ross Trophys (16/17 and 17/18), 2 Ted Lindsay Trophys (16/17 and 17/18) as well as 1 Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in 2016/17 when the Blackhawks won the CDNHL Cup. He has cracked 100 points in a season 5 times and never had less than 78 points in any season for the Blackhawks.

Kane now ranks 2nd in games played all time for the Blackhawks (behind Jonathan Toews) but is 1st all time in goals, assists, points, +/- and game winning goals.

And the way Patrick Kane keeps on producing it sometimes seems he is just getting started…
