Today was both a sad and happy day for Caps fans. Star forward and team captain Sidney Crosby was sent to the division rival Hurricanes along with Radko Gudas for young electrifying forward Tyler Seguin and top 4 d-man Brent Seabrook.

“It’s not a trade that we wanted to make but we felt like we had to make to extend our window” said GM MacPherson in regards to the blockbuster. “Crosby was the heart and soul of our team this past season, but we felt like we had to get a younger franchise center in so we can stay competitive for years to come”.

It was a trade no one was expecting after Crosby led the way for the Caps to make the CDNHL Finals this past season. But even with Crosby gone, the Caps 1C spot is in the very capable hands of Seguin for now.

“We are very excited to have a young offensive dynamo like Seguin coming into the mix here in Washington, we would like to thank Crosby for making Washington Great Again in our first season managing this great franchise, we wish him the best of luck in Carolina” said GM MacPherson.

One thing is for certain about this trade, the goal for the Caps management is to keep Washington great and take the next step towards winning Washington’s first CDNHL title.
