See the source imageGm mangone has been extremely busy since taking over as Gm of the Blue Jackets.  Only a few days into the job and the Gm made a block buster that will change this team.   Mangone traded away team favorite Elvis Merzlikins for a 1st  and 2nd in 2022.  Mangone traded from a area of strength within the organization and brought in some high end picks, which the team did not have.  He then made a bunch of moves where it looks like he wants to improve the team while at the same time putting his own stamp on the team.

Mangone brought in Matthew Dumba, Ryan Hartman, Julien Gauthier, Mason Marchment, Vladislav Firstov, Brett Leason and moved out Jerermy Swayman, Joel Armia, Nick Foligno, Mikko Koivu, Rudolfs Balcers.  Some minor picks have also moved in each direction.  In the expansion draft Columbus did lose a decent D man in Adam Pelech, as well as Calvin de Haan.

With the entry draft currently underway, and with UFA coming up soon, it should be fun to see what the Blue Jackets do next.  The team still has to hire a head coach, and the interview process is currently underway.
