BUFFALO, NY – All it took was one update on the Buffalo Sabres trade block and GMs across the CDNHL were picking up the phone to reach out to GM Bernie. The surprising news that the Sabres were actively shopping just about every signed player not named Barkov or Eichel was a huge surprise to the fan base.

When GM Bernie was asked about his decision to publicly make so many players available he offered up a refreshingly honest and detailed response. Speaking with a fiery earnestness, Bernie said “I love every one of those guys. We’ve had some incredible regular season success but our inability to win in the playoffs has become a major issue. It is unacceptable. Change is needed. And the reality is we no longer have Jack on an entry level and that is a lot more money in 2 guys than a few seasons ago. We’re gonna need to stay young, stay cheap and hopefully still find a way to win. We are going to win a Cup with Barkov and Eichel.”

Fans online were quick to weigh in with their opinions. Most were upset at the idea of not being “all in” for the first time in a number of seasons. Some though expressed confidence in the GM who has been able to put together rosters over the last 3 seasons that have averaged 123 regular season points during that same period.
