The Anaheim Ducks may do the unthinkable this summer and trade future hall of fame defenceman Brent Burns.  His career numbers are stellar in the CDNHL and next season will hit some very important milestones.  Burns has played 1197 games in his career, totalling 793 points, of which 198 are goals and 595 are assists.

In his CDNHL career, he ranks first all time in points by a defenceman, good for 34th overall in career scoring in league history.  He ranks second all times in goals behind Weber, fourth in assists, and sixth in games played.  In his seven years in Anaheim, he posted 486 points (126-360) in 569 games, including winning back to back Norris Trophies.

Why would Anaheim trade such a stud when they are still chasing their elusive Stanley Cup?  Quite simply they have added great young talent to take over the reigns.  Darnell Nurse has solidified himself as a true number one defender, and talented youngsters Josh Morrissey and Damon Severson help round out a solid defensive group.  With superstar Connor Hellebuyck between the pipes, the team needs to upgrade their forward depth and moving Brent Burns could help with that.
